With the Edinburgh Festival Fringe just around the corner in August I have put together a short-ish list of shows which I have seen; I am going to see or which I can’t fit into my schedule but which I think look interesting. I lean towards comedy so please bear that in mind when looking at my list.

Link: The Past | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	The Past	More comedy from Fishing4Chips but this time a sketch show. Looking forward to new material from this hilarious company.
Link: Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel	A truly fantastic set of improvisers create a Jane Austen novel which almost feels rehearsed had you not just heard the title suggestions at the beginning of the show. A must see for fans of regency shows.
Link: Come From Away | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	Come From Away	I adore this show. I have seen it four times before; including both professional and amateur productions. I saw this production last year in a more intimate venue. I am super excited to see Captivate Theatre back with a bigger venue this year. Link: Hold On To Your Butts | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	Hold On To Your Butts	I saw this show in 2024 having never seen Jurassic Park but even I couldn’t help but laugh. Super silly. If you prefer fantasy (think LOTR) ‘Fly, You Fools’ is also performing at the Fringe by the same team. My review of this show from 2024: Hold On To Your Butts

Link: CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation	I saw this improv show in 2024 in the same room and really enjoyed it. A fun interactive detective show with such a talented improv cast. My review of this show from 2024: CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation
Link: A Play on Words | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	A Play On Words	This looks an interesting play all about language and it’s power. Looking forward to seeing what could be a fascinating production.
Link: Katie Pritchard is Sir Elton Scone | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	Katie Pritchard is Sir Elton Scone	I saw Katie Pritchard in A Jaffa Cake Musical where she stole the show. Link: Absolute Monopoly | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	Absolute Monopoly	Chaotic fun! I saw this show last year and had the best time. More fun if you really throw yourself (sometimes literally) into this show.

Link: A Silent Disco Dance Tour by Silent Adventures | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	A Silent Disco Dance Tour by Silent Adventures	I danced my way through Edinburgh last year with this experience. You hate to see them, love to be them. It’s silly and definitely a time to let go of your inhabitations and join the fun!
Link: A Murder Mystery Musical – The Detective’s Demise | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	A Murder Mystery Musical – The Detective’s Demise	This detective musical looks like good fun and I’m hoping the murdered detective gets a heartfelt solo or possibly a tap number.
Link: Cluedo | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	Cluedo	A fun looking cosy murder mystery with good humour and a Scottish production company.
Link: The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of Macbeth | Edinburgh Festival Fringe	The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of Macbeth	Performed by the Edinburgh People’s Theatre (who have performed at every Fringe since 1947). This looks to be a funny ‘play that goes wrong’ style comedy.
