Mothman: A Romance Musical was a unique blending of genres which the show ingeniously parodied. It felt like if Captain America was crossed with a b-horror movie. Part romance, part horror and part potential superhero.

Mothman follows the story of Anna, her boyfriend Kevin and her best friend Natasha as they hunt for the elusive Mothman. The relationships between the three main characters felt fleshed out and really added depth to what was a pretty absurd and zany show.

The songs were beautifully written whilst still maintaining the pace and humour of the show. Featuring a talented cast who successfully carry this crazy show providing emotional depth whilst also balancing the comedy that is core to the show.

I could easily see this show extending beyond the Fringe and becoming a cult show. I would thoroughly recommend Mothman: A Romance Musical as an absurd but triumphant comedy musical.
