In God Is Dead and I Killed Him, Callum Patrick Hughes takes the audience through his journey with religion, spirituality and the spirit world.
Callum uses very traditional storytelling mixed with music played on guitar which creates an intimate feel and draws in the audience allowing us to emphasis and follow Callum on his journey. The music choices were often familiar which again allowed the audience to relate to Callum’s experiences.
The show is extremely honest and vulnerable talking openly about his own experiences and his grief. Using a strong narrative to connect all the stories through the themes of religion and spirituality shows a through line and makes the show feel more rounded and complete than his show last year.
Overall, a stronger narrative with vulnerability and musicality that allowed the audience to emphasis and relate to Callum and his journey with religion and spirituality.
