Cosy is an improvised musical comedy show written and performed by Alex Prescot about losing his double act partner. Using the audience to craft the show allows the audience to feel invested in the material and is extremely impressive to witness.
Prescot is a talented musician and improviser who never falters in his delivery and the flow of the show makes the audience relax as they feel comfortable trusting Prescot. Improvisation can make an audience feel nervous particularly if the improvisers are unsure of themselves or unkind to the audience but Prescot is neither, with confidence and kindness he wins you over instantly.
I reviewed Alex Prescot’s show at the Edinburgh Fringe last year but with this new show Prescot has written in a narrative structure that ties the show together neatly and provides a clear ending which helps to make the show feel like a complete story and allows the audience to come away feeling joyful and satisfied.
I would highly recommend Alex Prescot: Cosy for everyone as this is a brilliant and joyful show that reflects the quick witted and talented humour of Prescot whilst bringing the audience with him on a musical journey.
