The Comedy of Err-ARRS!

The Comedy of Err-ARRS! told the classic Shakespearean tale set in the world of pirates.

The pirate theme worked well but was under utilised with the theme only showing up through costumes and set rather than being truly worked into the story and language. The original Shakespearean language was used which is always great to see and the plot was made fairly clear although the initiation was slightly misplaced or not placed at all on some lines making it difficult to understand each sentence but the overall context was clear.

The set was the biggest problem with scene changes taking longer than they should as the main set piece, a door, was unstable and the actors were finding it difficult to move it whilst keeping it upright. This door was unnecessary for the space and ditching it would make the play flow more smoothly.

Overall, a traditional Shakespeare play with a good but under utilised theme and long set changes made for a fun if slightly slow paced show.
