How Can I Help You?

How Can I Help You covered the dating life of Callum Patrick Hughes, his ADHD diagnosis, the links to music in his life and how he has come to understand love.

The mixture of music and stories felt traditional but the transitions between the music and the stories were sudden which made the music feel strange and disconnected from the stories. I found the stories were honest which didn’t always paint Hughes in a great light which added to the complexity of the piece. However, Hughes concentrated on his mistakes which made it more difficult to sympathise with him and his struggles.

The stories were interesting but I felt the ending realisation of what love means to Hughes was a little abstract which is probably apt but left me feeling as if the piece had gone nowhere.

With more refining this could be a really interesting look at dating, love, the mistakes we make and how we learn from them in a very traditional mixture of music and stories.
